Date: March 13-17, 2016
Location: Ft Benning, GA
The NRA Collegiate Program would like to extend a very gracious thank you to the United States Army Marksmanship Unit for its steadfast support of both this championship and the NRA Collegiate Program.
PLEASE NOTE: If you will be attending the 2016 championship, you will need to have your name on a master list of attendees in order to access the base. This is the case for competitors, coaches, sponsors, family, and friends. The list requires your full name (first, last) and your arrival and departure dates. If your name is not on this list, you will be required to check in at the Visitors Center, where a potentially lengthy wait and background check will take place. To be added to this list, please email Victoria Croft (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your information. The list will be submitted to Fort Benning at noon on March 4, 2016. If you have a military ID, you do not need to be on this list.
The purpose of the Championships is to determine the National Collegiate Individual and Team Champions in Intercollegiate Free Pistol, Standard Pistol, Open Air Pistol, Women's Air Pistol and Women's Sport Pistol. Qualifications for an invitation to the Championships are determined from scores fired in the annual NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectionals held throughout the U.S. between January and February in many different locations. The Championships attract competitors and schools nationwide.
Qualifying teams and individuals will be selected based on scores fired in the current year's NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectionals. See the NRA International Pistol Rule 2.8.
Teams qualifying in two of the three team events may participate in all three team events in order to compete for national aggregate championship for awards only.
The top fifteen ranking women who fire in the NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectional Women's Air Pistol event are invited to compete for the title of Women's Collegiate Air Pistol National Champion. The top fifteen women who fired in the NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectionals women's sport event are invited to compete for the title of Women's Collegiate Sport Pistol National Champion. The top five teams in Women's Air Pistol and Women's Sport Pistol will be invited to the Championships.
There is a separate category for ROTC Teams in Standard Pistol. However, any ROTC students (teams and individuals) competing in Air Pistol, Free Pistol, or Sport Pistol may qualify in the “open” categories as long as they fire the necessary scores.
For eligibility requirements, please read the program.
